A laboratory was closing down as operations are planned to be relocated overseas. The company had identified around 10% of the assets to be redeployed. All remaining items were to be sold or disposed. A timeframe of 2 weeks was given to complete the disposition as the lease was ending soon.
All remaining assets were purchased outright with fair market valuations established. We executed the payment, removal and clearance (inclusive of lab and office furniture etc.) successfully within the timeframe.
Cost savings were achieved from asset redeployment - as purchase of new equipment was avoided. The location was cleared within the allotted timeframe, and the company maximized the return on its original investment in those remaining assets within the short amount of time given (80% of the remaining assets are determined to be remarketable while lab and office furniture as well as small general laboratory items were recycled or scrapped).
